Salvatore Ferragamo

Exquisite design, exceptional craftsmanship, a fit that flatters: For more than 80 years, those have been the defining characteristics of Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. Made in Italy to exacting standards of quality, Ferragamo shoes represent a marriage of form and function rarely seen in anything but custom footwear. They also represent a dedication to a family-owned and –managed enterprise that today spans virtually the entire world.

Salvatore Ferragamo, the company’s founder, made his first pair of shoes at age nine, in his home village of Bonito in Italy’s Campane region. At 16 he came to America, eventually settling in Southern California and becoming the highly sought-after shoemaker to stars of the silent movie industry. When he returned to his native country he established a factory in Florence, where he continued to experiment with unconventional materials—including cork, raffia, and cellophane—and to invent new constructions such as the gloved arch and the cage heel.

Ferragamo today continues the legacy of its founder while continually developing exciting new designs. As always, quality and fit—in an extensive range of sizes—are paramount. Arthur Beren is proud of our long relationship with the Ferragamo family, and pleased to offer the very best of each season’s Ferragamo styles.
